Hi, my new AK just arrived
I noticed a problem with the encoders: The movement behavior of the encoders is different in the context of the parameters i want to tweak.
Curious
For example: The 2 encoder knobs for FREQ (in the filter menu) are very very slow increasing/decreasing the FREQ parameter, if i move very slow and gently the knobs. But if i change the menu (for example to the parameters of OSC1) and move the knobs as slow as before in the filter menu, the changes of the parameters become normal speed.
I don´t mean the “normal behavior” and the “speed-behavior” (pushing knobs = full speed changing of parameters).
Anyone have this problem? Are my encoders damaged?
Thanks.
Sounds very normal. Switch to perf page all adjustable values are the same, every enc will be identical, if not then investigate!
Hmmm …
Is this right: Moving the FREQ knob in filter menu decreases/increases the parameter values more slower than moving the next knob (RESO)?
I mean: In the filter menu 1/2 slow rotation at knob 1 (FREQ) takes me to the value +30 and the same 1/2 slow rotation at knob 2 (RESO) takes me to the value +60.
This is normal ???
Pfffffffffftttt …
Yes, different parameters require a different resolution each to dial in values over a meaningful range. That’s very common with encoder-equipped gear. An encoder is not a potentiometer.
Anyway, here’s a hint. While turning the encoders press them down. You’ll now be able to sweep through a greater range of values with shorter travel.
some encoders cover 14bit range (16k+ values), some cover 1bit range(on off)
i think your expectation is broken
they are waaaaaaaaay too fidgety for quick precise usage, that much is true, the elektron nano-twist is an art form in itself !
thanks for your support !
