This was a great read, thanks a lot for taking the time! Not really interested in planning one myself, but I’d love if there were more of these events. So I was curious about your experience and what this says about the chance of there being more of these events.

I think the concept is pretty mature. You can kind of just follow the formula and make it work.
Takes a lot of wo/manpower though, in the end it’s all about the networking.

Nice you’re still going! Will it be “bring your own gear” from now on or will you also let people send in stuff in advance to book sets? I’m wondering how this will work in practice. Would I just bring a Syntakt, pedals and controllers with me and tell you that I’d like to play a set next or what ?

OPEN STAGE means (to us) you can just show up as a walk-in and play.
Of course we welcome it, if artists let us know beforehand, but it’s really not a condition.

Sometimes we have the opportunity to collab with locations where the setting makes more sense to “prebook” a line-up, just to make sure the event plays out nicely. In April we did a show like that during an exhibition/in a gallery for example. But those aren’t labeled Open Stage then…
