the Xpressor is a lovely piece of gear…the Mpressor is just insane…they actually allow you to do truly creative, as opposed to corrective, things- which is the crux of the matter with electronic instruments : it’s not like when you’re dealing with all the huge dynamic range of an acoustic drum kit or guitar for example. Most compressors are largely a bit of a waste of time with things like drum machines, IMHO
However, would it be possible to redo the demo and make sure the relative levels of the dry and the wet signals are more equal? I’d love to hear what the compressor is capable of, but in this demo it’s hard to tell what’s going on, other than the compressed signal being a few dB louder than the clean signal.
Yeah. I’d make major use out of an Xpressor, but as with most gear I see a demo of and say “I want that”, it’s a whole lotta cash.
However, it’s for sure something to consider down the road- everyone needs a real analog compressor eventually, especially when you own so many different synths with many of them having a hard time fitting in a mix.
