Thanks! I’ve been under a rock myself, come back to the Digitakt and was wondering where we’re at with amazing 3rd party tools - I want to merge a thing from a project to another one :slight_smile:

Thanks so much!! I love using ElkHerd with my Rytm mk1, so excited to be able to use it with my DT as well and use it to transfer stuff between the DT and Rytm mk1.

Would be nice, but I may be making 2 3 rash presumptions here.

  • that @mzero has the time and inclination
  • that DT2 firmware and associated proprietary formats are stable enough to warrant the investigation.
  • that @mzero has access to a DT2

Yes I think so :slight_smile: … however I just remembered that previous conversations that started reasonably like this then escalated to the point that moderators intervened. Hence my bullet-pointed qualifiers above. Not really aimed at you.

Hold up… you can use ElkHerd with a Rytm???

Does it work to manage samples, or patterns too?

  • I have the inclination - and may have the time… though it will be by no means a quick port.
  • I good reason to suspect that the formats for DT2 are at least as stable as any DT release. Elektron engineering has been pretty excellent about this, with changes, even in early releases, not wildly changing things.
  • I don’t yet have a DT2…

elk-herd will manage the samples on a Rytm, but not the patterns. To do so would require delving into a whole new set of device formats.

Yeah, I’ve only used it for samples. I have a mk1 so no internal sampling but if I can use my digitakt for sampling and send that to the rytm via ElkHerd on my phone that’s super handy

So great, thank you! I used it recently with the DT2 and it worked perfectly but was missing some options that I really missed. I’m away from my machine atm but if I remember correctly it was missing the Project & Pattern management options that were so useful!

No pressure from me of course (didn’t know about the issues @bibenu mentioned - that’s terrible), just hopeful :slight_smile:
