Since we’re all homebound more than normal, I was wondering if we’ve discovered any unique tools and tips that would be worth sharing to the larger community.
I’m in a journalism grad program at NYU and wanted to reach out to the community to see if we can create a pinnable thread to help us all through these next few months. Some big post with useful tips / resources / workflows / collaborative projects.
As an Elektronaut myself, I learned a lot by using OBS and syncing cameras to sort of jam with friends. Let me know what tricks you’ve discovered.
Hmmm, well in the UK we’re just about to drop out of our existing country wide lockdown and in “tier 3” which is just the harshest level of lockdown but on a local level…Most of the North has been put into the same Tier 3 bullshit…
So until I’m allowed to do anything again I’m working on a ton of new music for my label, started a collab with a NYC resident as we’re both on the same label and have some odd and specific musical influences. Never done a long distant music project but I’m super excited to see where it leads…
OBS/streaming is something I think we are gonna have to look into…
It keeps me very busy so, my downtime is playing an getting spanked by Demons Souls, and working this absurdist Psychedelic duo I just started with my best friend who recently had a leg amputated… It’s called
“The Transcendental Secret Vegetable Cult”
The concepts is so stupid its become very funny, so we’re working on 4 track tape recordings etc - Imagine Spacemen 3/Loop/Jefferson Airplane/Velvet underground but totally chaotic and overwhelming with a drummer who only has one leg.

All I’ve learned is that with more time I do less music! I’ve cycled a hell of a lot more and shifted some weight and made efforts to keep in touch with pals via gaming on the excellent Stadia platform. Music has just taken a gigantic backseat for me first time in nearly a decade.
Will return to music once I get Cyberpunk out of my system… I’m cool with that though.
Yea man its hard work when you’re sat around bored as fuck, I really struggled with motivating myself just to get an e.p finished, and figured out that I can do creative things in small blasts… but then need to jump to something else.
TBH Im really struggling with reason why not just get off my fucking nut, and thats happened a bit too often.
Cyberpunk once they release the PS5 upgrade man…I cannot wait. Im just gonna play souls games til its ready.
I just got over an incredible Sekiro obsession and secretly thanking myself for not going with a PS5 this generation otherwise I’d be stuck right into Demon Souls. These games are like crack ffs

We are doing well here in Sydney Australia at moment all restrictions have been dropped for Christmas, the virus has been little to none in months… finally getting back to normal for now anyway, who knows if it will last though, but hopefully does
I like the idea. I think it would be cool to have some of these pinned categories. There are many tips I have come across around here, and forgot about later. Mostly because I can’t remember which thread it was in, or can’t find it because it is buried in hundreds of posts. During the “stay at home” order here, back around March or April, Ess did a nice Digitone workshop. I can’t remember what platform that was on, but it would be great to have it pinned somewhere. It would be great to have pinned resources.
Are you back working at arriva? That’s how I’ve felt this entire 4 weeks, feels in general most people have stopped giving a fuck, people still out and about in droves and there’s a shit ton of traffic. This tier bollocks is a joke man.

I’m using the lockdown to spend time with my son and helping my girl out a bit. Being a mom is a 24 hour job, so I’m glad I can help more. And for a bonus I get to see more of my little dude growing up. This lockdown stuff also has some positives.
In the breaks I’ll try to make some music. I’m learning to use 10-15 minute time pieces effectively. I’d love to get an uncomplicated collab with somebody going though to see how that is.

You selling your Digitone? Iv’e just got the Digitone Keys back in July I haven’t had it out the box since end of July but I’m gonna start using it soon I absolutely love the sounds I can get from it.
A bit skint atm mate spent a bit this weekend - Keystep pro = argon 8m and a Mopho desktop.

I went on a long rant about bloody Hades. It’s super super super crack. But with crack they say the high drops out, or you overdose. With the Switch, as long as you’re plugged in, it just keeps on going.
Videogames are meaning boxes. If you don’t have anything going on they’re great at giving you a long long to-do list and a visceral sense of achievement.
Do you mean 10-15 minute tracks or the amount of time you have to work on music? I find guitar much easier to pick up and practice for 15 minutes than the DT/DN’s. It seems every time I switch one on two hours pass.
