when you go to edit your reply, does it show the icon at the top?
if it replied to me, it should show my avatar. theoretically.

It shows that at at the top of the text box, yep. Then when I hit replyā¦ I havenāt replied. Seems like the system might be registering it as a reply just not showing it? Or maybe even just not showing me personally that my replies are replies? idk

maybe a reply right under is not flagged as such. Bot if you replied to the one above / 2 up, itād be showing it as direct reply

@elevate is right. An immediate reply is not visually flagged the way a later reply is.

In case you may be wondering whyā¦.
Itās to stop the behaviour you see often in older phpBB and similar forum software, where you get a 20 paragraph essay, and then the next post is the full quote with an āI agreeā at the bottom. Looks terrible.
I think if you quote only a part of the reply it may show up, even for consecutive posts, but direct reply or full quote, discourse edits the post and removes it.

While I am writing: back arrow on iOS is giving me occasional issues this week, after working properly for a few months or so.
Personally I hate this new āfeatureā the most:
Hell nah! Gimme at leaaaast 5 min to edit my post without showing everyone I already edited it twice or more. This is sooo embarrassing! @mods
