Truly good! Really dramatic and menacing!
A bit late to the party but here is my first finished Drone track.
Listen to DRONES FROM THE MIRE by GhostN3rve on #SoundCloud
fire recording, did you record only line in or there’s some of the speaker bleed from the tascam mic?
No mic.
Just a single mono line from the mixer straight into the tascam. Recorded in mono.
I have a new collection of drones out today for Bandcamp Friday. Sometimes we all need a little escape into the slowly shifting tides of harmonics.
I have several other drone releases available, including the recent ‘trilogie du breq’ made entirely with Dübreq semimodulars. It is kind of what I do but not the only thing I do.
One patch in Digitone .1 note. Unison 4, spread 125, algorithm 5. Slow lfo ‘s to pitch and harmonics. Complex ratios.
really enjoyed creating this one, it’s sounds like there’s a whole world in a layer of cascading partials.
Nice one ! Deeply evocative. It’s sounds like an old recording in tape abandoned for years in a hot room .
thanks, i’m loving this thread and experiencing different drone perspectives.
i find the best drones are lucidly latent. not quite there, in a space that captivates and steals time. really hard to express in words what makes a good drone a good drone.
and how that can work from full range noise to the minimum bare components.
Kevin Drumm is probably one guy that often captivates with his recordings. hey it’s bandcamp friday, could show him some love.
recommend going in random to one of 258 release ![]()
I saw him live many years ago and his performance, was great. Crazy guy.
I’ve been working within the same core setup as the last one, but moving the patches over a few days into slightly different directions.

Nice. I know it’s a matter of taste, but I like harmonic, overtone-y drone stuff like this way more than the brutalist abstract stuff. Gets me all meditative.
Amazing work - sounds fantastic!
If you want to feel as a malfunctioning starship whirling into some cosmic storm with high amount of dangerous radiations everywhere, try this:

Likewise. The drones I enjoy best I think of like cloud watching - that sense of knowing things have changed but not quite being able to put my finger on when.
