There are now three or four people from Stuttgart or nearby. Little surprised but pleasantly so. Are you interested in some kind of meetup?

Klaro

Make it +1.
I knew there were quite a few elektron users in Stuttgart (mostly because I sold all of my elektron instruments here), but I’m really surprised that we already seem to make up the majority in this thread

Some interesting suggestions. Been in Munich for 2 days now and we leave on Monday for Berlin. We’ve been let down with our tickets for a gig tomorrow (paper tickets lost in the post courtesy of UPS), so if people have any pre tournament suggestions, maybe events happening around the city this week before the fan zone opens for the first game, then that would be great.

I can see Ed Sheeran is playing where the Oktoberfest takes place and those tickets are selling pretty cheap, because I guess they aren’t selling, but he’s not our thing. The set up looked great when we rode past earlier though.

I’ve seen a lot of Munich last time I was here, or i’d be visiting church lookout towers and marveling at the architecture, but if any new must see buildings or areas have opened in the last 10 years then that might be cool, or local nightlife, or cool communities of free thinking people? I do visit Berlin on occasion for that as there is nowhere like it, but maybe Munich has it’s own cool venues and spaces?

Anyway, 2.5 days to kill. Maybe it’s Neuschwanstein Castle again, find new beer gardens and enjoy the vibe, or perhaps just hire some bikes and see where they take us?

Sorry to hear your tickets didn’t work out, don’t let it get you down. Enjoy the trip regardless and hope it all goes well for you.

Appreciate that thanks. Viagogo usually works out, but dealing with them when things don’t work out is not all that pleasant. It’s bad cop, good cop. Wasted about a hour today conversing with them.

Anyway, early night then refocus tomorrow.

Yeah, sorry to hear that didn’t pan out. But you’re certainly in a great place for other options. Enjoy! Last time I was in Germany I did a week in Berlin and a week studying at the Bauhaus in Dessau and, while being hot as balls and horrified how Germans have no use for AC or ice, I still had a great time. Fun country, that.

We got lucky with Eventim, the official ticket sellers. They had some restricted view tickets left, but the view wasn’t really restricted anyway, so not a place in the mosh pit, but they saved the day.

Viagogo refunded me too, after also first offering alternative tickets, but as they were paper, tickets and had no pick ups from a ticket office, they were dead links.

Was a good atmosphere yesterday in Marienplatz. The sun returned and the Tartan Army were in town and singing their usual traditional and profanity laden anti-English songs. They only reach major tournaments once every blue moon so we took it in good spirits and will be neutral on Friday. Heading to Liechtenstein today but back to see Scotland get stuffed by Germany in the fan zone

Spent a day in Munich last weekend and enjoyed the beer at Higgins Ale Works and the French Patisserie at Dukatz.

Back tomorrow. Headed to Liechtenstein today and the weather is perfect. The fan zone it’s set up for the euros looks great too, but the nightlife is really chilled and maybe that’s a midweek thing, but at least the scenery is beautiful and the beer is not bad… And it’s a new experience for us. Reminfs me of past excursions to Morzine for the DH biking in summer, but without any real life after dark. The “Hoi” welcome took me by surprise. If you’ve you’ve ever been to Sweden you’ll know what I mean, but if a woman says “Hoi”, then she usually thinks you’ve wronged her and you will have to explain yourself. Cultural diversity rocks!.

Sounds great. Any details on this?
