I have the digitakt and the AR mkI, I would like to sequence resolume arena (the VJing software) with the sample tracks (on the digitakt > not the midi) or the tracks (on the AR) but it doesn’t work.
It works with the midi tracks on the digitakt but when I use the others tracks on both machines it doesn’t works.
It’s weird beacause, when I do the midi mapping on resolume, the software recognize a midi message when I press a sample on the digitakt or a pad on the AR, but when I press play to launch the sequence on the machines, resolume doesn’t play the clips mapped.
Can anyone help me maybe, I check all the possibilities on the midi menu for the 2 machines, but nothing seems to change.
i think i have bad news for you, the machines send out midi only if the pads are pressed, not when the internal sequencer is triggered. this explains the behaviour you noticed…
but i also have good news: the digitakts midi tracks send midi, so u have to use them
tip: instead try to map the knobs and performance macros on rytm to effects in resolume… as they send midi if i use them…
Too bad. I was affraid of that. I’m gonna use the midi tracks But it will adds more programmation.
I don’t understand your tip with the knobs and performance macros, How does it works ?
maybe you can try to copy a track or a page of trigs (bd for example) and paste it on a midi track… not sure if this works, but try it… could save some programing
when you turn a knob or press a pad on the elektrons midi is send out, so map that midi to effect sweeps or layer opacity or something else in resolume… you should get a dynamic and interresting performance this way…
(there are macro controls in resolume too, i think)
the performance mode on rytm sends out midi cc… if you are not using it already, you should look it up, it is very powerful (basically macros per kit)
Ok ! I’m gonna check the performance mode, I already understand the basics, but I didn’t know about the out midi cc. It could be a lead ! Thank you again.
