Elektron UNITS AS 303/BASSBOT CONTROLLER ?
[hr]
Want to be able to use my tb303 devilfish of TT Bassbot in a live situation…
But wanna programme/mutate b-lines on the fly…
Both units are time a pain in the ass for live sequencing…
Basically ive written lines in Logic via midi…Wanna transpose those lines to a sequencer for the ability to add slides/rests etc in a show. And then i want to be able to mutate the existing lines during the set…I heard the Elektron units double up as great sequencers… Which of the octatrack/rytm/analog4 have the ability to add slides/rests easily… ? As the sequencer is running …
Or does anyone else have ideas of how to do what i wanna do live in an easily manipulable manner ???
Devilfish has CV inputs and TT has midi inputs…
Any help/advice much appreciated…
And not sure if it makes sense to people what i wanna do ??? Hope so…LOL
Basically wanna use a non-computor sequencer to EASILY operate the bassbot or devilfish in a live situation, in conjunction with drum machines…
many thanks
OT has the best MIDI Sequencer (chords possible). But no CV/Gate.
A4 has a good Sequencer but only for CV/Gate.
Rytm has no MIDI out for external gear.
Hope this helps

P.S.
So I think, the OT is the best for you.
You have 8 Midi-Out Tracks. And the Sequencer is great for live-jobs.
So you only need a MIDI-CV Interface for the Devilfish

I used my Octatrack with my TT303 many times, it works just fine + you can use the Octatrack for drums and additional synths;
But for some reason I still prefer to use the 303 sequencer for 303 basslines…
Why bother having a 303 if you’re not using the sequencer?
Hi,
I finally got my hands on a x0xb0x recently… Have been using it with the octatrack having lots of fun…
Is true that the onboard sequencer of the 303 makes it special, but also tedious and less Live performance friendly… So I started to sequence the x0xb0x from the OT without issues… Most sequencer parameters are covered in MIDI, like accent (Velocity with a value of more than 100) and slides (by overlapping notes)…
It´s definitely a lot of fun using the arpeggiator, cant stop tweaking those knobs…
Hope it helps!
