Elektron stands

So, I have been madly working on designs for building a stand to hold the elektron units. As some of you might know, I built my first ones from acrylic, which worked well, but were rough and ready.

I have moved now to phase two, and have two prototypes on the go.

The first, is my deluxe model. Being built out of Australian hardwood, it will be a solid unit that screws together left and right sides and has support for the units to sit on. The units will be screwed into the timber, but not rely on the screws as the primary support. There will be support from the underside while allowing plenty of room for the cables. Vent holes for the analog 4 are accommodated in both levels. This will be a high end product and screwed together with Allen head stainless steel bolts for a really modern look.

The second is my standard model, this will be made from mild steel, powder coated and also have vents, and mount the units with stainless steel Allen head bolts. These stands don’t require additional support, as tests have shown no movement or stress is put on the machines when two are mounted correctly. We are able to print full colour images on the side of these as well, and will do one on our prototype to show the detail we can do.

While I’d love to add the elektron logo, this is not something I’d do without permission from the gods above. But we know it’s possible. Maybe the elektron gods, can let me know?

Once the prototypes are done, I’ll post pictures, however in the meantime, any feedback from users and your ideas would be great so we can look into it for a possible production run.

This is taking some time to get done right. And while I’m not really doing it to make a buck, ( I just want really nice stands) if anyone wants them, I see no reason to market them.

Hi, that sounds great. I use an OT together with an A4 on a Laptop stand.
But this solution is not the best because the Top Device covers the low device
if I stand up in front of both. Therefore I must sit in front.

When you produce your stands can you say how much the stands will cost
and when they will be availabe?

As a multiple EIT1 owner, I have to throw out the fact that I wouldn’t consider a 2 tier stand that didn’t fold in some manner. The small footprint of the elektron units is a key selling point, and the fact that I currently have 3 and need to travel with them regularly means I need them to be compact.

I really like some of the stands offered on here already and I would be excited for a high end wood stand if only it matched, to some degree, the portability aspect of the EIT1. I would especially love a high end wood stand that folded into a box itself. As if a rectangle that had a unit in the lid and 1 in the base. Perhaps with a removable back plate for IO access. As it stands now I use the EIT1 for A4 + OT and pro modular ends for MDUW+. I can fold up the eit1 and it is 2 units in the space of the MDUW with acrylic ends. I have to remove the pro modular ends to pack it up right. So on and so forth. Basically, I don’t want to have to remove the stand to travel and a fixed 2tier stand typically proves too large to transport without removing the sides.

Were I any sort of craftsman when it came to fine wood working, I would love to attempt a 3 unit box that held all 3 side by side at an angle. Beneath the boxes , being angled, could be a power strip and all the psu needed to condense the psus to 1 power strip cable coming out of the back that could be wrapped around a hook system. Everything else could be pre routed so you can plug in power and go. In a perfect world the lid would fold back to a specific degree and could also house some effects or other units, but I’m rambling/dreaming now.

I look forward to seeing the prototypes and wish you the best. Only voicing my opinion here.
