Elektron Patches Downloads

I did a factory reset on my machine I bought second hand and am no wondering which of the patch downloads on the Elektron website are additional to those installed by default.

Does anyone know?

I don’t really want a load of duplicate patches on my machine.

Also, there a couple of files where there is just a single sysex file, not a list of patches, how do you control where this is stored (so not over current patches etc)?

Cheers

Ross

Hey Ross,

as far as I remember the patches from the Elektron website are all additional. I never had problems with duplicated patches.

Transferring/ storing patches is quite simple.

  • First of all download “C6” from the Elektron website.
  • Connect your device via usb to your computer and switch it on.
  • Open"C6" and drag and drop the sysex file(s) to the application.
  • For multiple sysex file transfer select the files by holding shift on your computer keyboard and click on the first and then on the last patch in the list (probably command + a will do the trick).
  • On your device press and hold “function” and hit “global”.
  • Press “up” until “sysex dump” is highlighted.
  • Press “yes”.
  • Press “up” until “sysex receive” is highlighted and again… “yes”.
  • Choose the relevant option. In your case you want to transfer sounds to the “+ Drive Sound”. So select it by pressing “up” until “+ Drive Sound” is highlighted an press “right”.
  • Select an empty bank by pressing “up” and hit “yes”. The display shows “waiting data…”
  • Press “send” in “C6” to send the sysex file(s).
  • Done.

I am not 100% sure but I think it is not possible to copy patches over current patches.

Ok ta, was just worried where some of the sysex files are just one file but clearly contain many actual patches.

Do you know if the factory reset, resets the +drive status too?

By sending one sound to" C6" or something equal one sysex file will be created.
If you are sending more than just one sound at ones there still will be just one sysex file.
I think that`s the reason why some sysex files contains one sound/ patch and others several sound/ patch.

“When performing a factory reset on the Analog Four it will overwrite and re-initialize the active project (including all pattern, kit, sound pool and global data).
The +Drive project slot 1 will be overwritten and re-initialized. Sound
bank A and B will be overwritten with the factory Sounds. Factory preset patterns, kits, Sounds and settings will be re-initialized.
If you wish to keep the active project, remember to save it to a +Drive project slot higher than 1 before you perform a factory reset. To perform a factory reset, press [TRIG] key 3.” (A4 manual, OS 1.12, page 66)

Ok, I am probably worrying about nothing.

Can always install the lot and then delete them if they are copies in the box.
