Elektron, increased prices?

Just noticed this a moment ago on the elektron webpage:

A4/Octa are now 1399€, Rytm 1599€ and so on.

Probably caused by the strong dollar, parts are more expensive to acquire etc. . It will take some days until the retailers adjust their street price, so might be a good moment to buy now if you are on the fence to get a box…

Edit: dollar prices didnt change though…

American prices seem to be the same. Except, Accesories saw a price drop

LOL, it seems the eagerly awaited Overbridge is not SO free

Wow the Rytm is 273 US Dollars more if you buy it in Euros over USD. I’d be trying to find a seller in the US that ships overseas cheap if I were looking for an Elektron device right now.

For pre existing owners, our investments just appreciated.

This is correct. It has nothing to do with Overbridge.

American made parts build into the Elektron boxes?? I highly doubt it. What would that be??
If anything Elektron profits from the strong dollar with more exports to the US.
It seems everyone is using the dollar for an excuse to raise the prices right now.

Not a chance. Import taxes plus shipping will run you a lot more than 273usd. And you’ll have to wait for 3 to 4 weeks.

Completely understandable. EUR went down by about 15% vs previous year.
And I’d be damned if they don’t outsource most of the parts, which largerly means for USD

I forgot about VAT, I don’t live in the EU. That must be where Elektron is getting their new prices from. The price in Euros is about 20% more than the US price which correlates with VAT tax.

No not american made, but electronic components from asia, where most of those are being produced. If you want, lets say, 5000 encoders from taiwan, you will most likly ve to pay them in dollar, its the lead currency on that market

…ok…100 euros more…that’s not changing much 'bout a decsion to buy in, once you made it…and sure, it’s the weak euro…

wanted to buy a waves maxx bcl rackunit…ordered one for 2300 euros in march…
but than i had to cancel for some other investment…

now i wanted to order again…i can get it for 3200 euros now…!!!

er, thanx…

I was just listening to this podcast the other day about the history behind why the dollar is the lead currency.

Also, the US dealer prices don’t include the tax that (sometimes, depending on your state) you might be supposed to pay.

It’s an additional 7% where I live.
Comes to $1818 for Analog Keys, and $1604 for Analog Rytm, both from Sweetwater.

Fortunately, even after the tax burden, some of us know how to shop.

Hey I work at Control Voltage in Portland Oregon. We are proud dealers in elektron gear and ship all around the world.

I wanna buy some bags, noticed the price is still the same on the website.

We got bags for days.

yeah? really? I call BS !!! ___ ----- … I bet the dollar changed because of Overbridge! -… there u have it! … I saw it commmmming… (just kidding here guys)

After all, the name “overbridge” clearly comes from “overpriced”

In being elektron dealers!?!? I should hope so. We love elektron. I preach the gospel of the octatrack to all that will listen.

The Octatrack is good
