Hey,
i like to build a flightcase for my live setup.
For this, the safest way to hold everything in place, would be that the bottom is inside the foam. Do you think it can get a overheating problem? Elektron gear would be my analog 4 mk2 and a rytm mk1.
The machines would be on up to 4-5 hours, also in really warm conditions.
If I remember correctly the Rytm MKI specifically has vents in the side of the unit.
But the accurate answer, as is often the case, is ‘it depends’.
The units can comfortably run at 30-40c - so environment temp will be as big of a factor as the foam. Using them in a club whilst encased in foam? Bad idea. Using them in a walk-in fridge encased in foam? Probably doing them a favour.
I’d avoid it though personally, and I’m sure that Elektron would say the same if you asked them.
IME getting the right amount of airflow around any analog gear is really important. All analog gear I’ve ever owned gets warm, and FWIW the Syntakt (when I owned it) would become pretty hot to touch. The AR/A4 is in a bigger case than the Syntakt but I’m sure the same logic applies. At the very least, all four sides should have an air gap around them IMO, and personally I’ve always used risers that allow an air gap on the underside of each device as well.
Hey, thanks to you all!
I bougt a keyboard Flightcase. Everything fits in there really well.
I would mount everything with velcro in there. The Mixer would get a cage with foam, because its so heavy and also i need it on other project quite often.
My main problem is, that i need different stages while playing live.
I bougt these things for kitchen doors, but it wont work like i thougt.
Do you know any systems, that can be fixed in cases and pop up like a stand?
Maybe its also a bad idea to build it that big and heavy, i would always need help and maybe i just split it in 2.
Thanks for your help
