Can anyone with this bag confirm if it fits a 16āā Macbook Pro? I know the specs on the site mention 15āā laptops, but the 16āā Macbooks are a bit closer to 15āā dimensions for an equivalent PC.
That would fit easily, the internal (back facing) pocket is stitched at about 28cm-ish width with a flattish pocket ādepthā. It would not accommodate a chunky neoprene sleeve or similar, but a bare device would be no issue. A machine of this size in a chunky sleeve would easily fit in the āmainā section. Itās my daily driver bag, although padded, not sure personally i would want a laptop in it day in day out for commuting purposes, iād be leaning on a crumpler bag (if still available) with chunkier padding all round (and not something that would be flat on your back). Having said that iām sure many people would be comfortable with this to transport a spendy computer and manage it safely

I made an entire thread about if this can fit an Octatrack Mk2 and an Analog Four Mk2 but it looks like I could throw in my Rytm Mk1 as well and still have room for more.
Got mine today. Didnāt adjust it properly yet, just quickly checked that everything is ok.
The A4 fits snugly in the padded pocket and the Octatrack can then hang out in the main compartment. Plenty of room for cables and other stuff.
I have rehearsal booked for Thursday meaning that I can take it for a spin.
Is the inside foam padded?
Not entirely. Only the pocket is. So you get padding from one direction only inside the main compartment. Otherwise itās just two layers of fabric, I believe.
The laptop compartment is also padded but itās accessed separately from the outside.
Nothing that canāt be solved by throwing in a towel.
Although Iām wondering if I could make padded square tubes from some firm but flexible material, put one on each side for support and then have my cables stored inside them.
Currently i use a swiss business backpack, which is quiete sturdy - but i noticed its loosing some threads on the shoulder strap - because the weight is quiete heavy when i transport my octatrack and prophet module. + cabels. That is why i think about getting one which is possibly better suited for these devices. And some seperation is also ok, i bring other stuff to the office, which i dont need in rehearsal room.
I also considerd this one here, it looks quiete water proof - our last year here in germany have been very rainy.

Iāve carried my OT in a convertible Uniqlo bag (the kind you can use as a backpack or a satchel bag) with the decksaver on and coiled audio & MIDI cables on both sides to keep it from jiggling around. In that sense the ECC-6 is not much different for me.
But being able to fit my A4 in the same bag with the OT is a huge upgrade.
Iām considering getting one.

The top āfastenerās on the roll is a weird choice as you have to feed the strap through it to unroll and gain access to the bag
So yes, itās secure but it not as convenient as a clip fastener that just clicks apart for instant easy access .
Otherwise it seems like a reasonable design .

I used my elektron bag as my daily laptop bag for work, for a couple of years. No-one approached me.

Might be slightly autistic here and even if not, Iāve been coding (read āarguing with colleagues and LLMs) all day so my brain is locked into pedantrry and edge cases modeā¦
- WFH: actually, youāre right. For most of the two years I used the bag, I was doing one to two days in office max, so the number of opportunities for casual encounters was low
- WFH(2): hahaā¦ sometimes I have the gear on. Sometimes I make the bleeps whilst the LLMs do my code for meā¦
- (3): changed jobs last year; actually enjoying 3-4 days in office with real people. But I donāt take the elektron bag to work any more because the bottom corners are beginning to wear through from the laptop weight. (Not a stirling review of the bag; itās generally very tough; even thoā the corners are fraying, itās still pretty secure)
