Elektron at NAMM 2018

I was hoping for a wavetable poly or MM style digibox but the dto demos totally sold me on the sound.

…Digitakt and a Volca FM is the same, not?

use 4 diff. midi tracks from Digitakt and you would even have 8 Sound tracks and another 4 Midi tracks. + a lot of money.

iam grumpy, fix digitakt, surprise me.

Volca fm is only three voices

And no midi pgm change. No changing of sounds per step or any other automated way aside from turning a knob.

And zero filters

I know when the smoke clears it will get fixed. I like supporting Elektron because I really like their instruments even if they take a little time to get it right. I’ll complain and I’ll bitch but eventually I’ll just be happy that I have it.

fmy first elek was md mk1. elektron change and are just

I think they are having some growing pains and probably are moving too fast for their own good. Hopefully they can get some more guys hired (I’d totally work for them if they were in the U.S.) and get more solid on their own deadlines.

I work for a software company (though I do mechanical and electrical) and those poor software engineers are there 12-14 hours a day trying to fix bugs and get stuff to work. One day they are on track and then a bug and boom they are 2 weeks behind.

I can’t really dive in the NAMM hype…it raises my blood pressure, so I prefer to wait to sort through news of new items for a few days. Besides, I have no money and no business even being tempted

I’m wondering if there has been anything said or overheard from Elektron re: details about the February OB release; Digitakt bug fixes; Heat bug fixes; new OSes?

This is the thread for any Elektron news OTHER than the DTone :sunglasses:

I hope there are some demos of overbridge and dt/do working.

When I heard about digital machine I thought they had done the dream… a bunch of algos 'a la monomachine. They focused only on FM for digitone - which is cool - but witch such nice screens it would have been nice to offer other algorithms people crave from monomachine, wavetables, etc. Still looks like a good match for digitak if you’re interested in FM sounds (vast array of sonic possibilities).

Ive been running my AR and A4 on two of these for 2 years

They give me around 4 to 5 hours of use (usually broken up in 2 to 3 sessions). When the LEDs read 1/2 full, Ill get about another hour but then the AR will stop making sound except a steady hum. It’s happened several times but no issues with the AR. I admit it’s risky but I write best in sunshine so I’m willing to take that risk.
A4 seems to draw less power so no issues there as I use them together always.

The main reason Im willing to spend the extra cash on the OTmk2 (soon!) is the power is the same as the A4/AR so I know I can use the same battery.

Wavetables are covered sufficiently in the Digitakt- given the motivation of keeping costs down with his product line, I can see why they left it off- not to say that I wouldn’t have appreciated it- but it makes sense

Anyone know what those white monitor speakers are?

I feel sorry for @Dataline and @Ess they have to say and show the same thing over and over again for 3 days in a row

Has all the coverage been for digitone? No demos of incoming overbridge working on digitakt or digitone ?

Only a few weeks to release hopefully.

At least that is comparatively exciting to doing the same job for 30 years with a bunch of people you hate. For shit money.
