Starting this Friday night at 10PM US PST, I’ll be spinning full sets of uninterrupted dance music. Mostly house, modern electronic, bass house, etc. Stuff you would hear in the club scene.
I’ll be doing a lot of custom remixes, mashups and even spinning some of my own original tracks for these shows. I pick all the music and there are no commercial interruptions.
After a few weeks I’ll start branching out into other electronic genres. I want to do some dedicated genre shows, such as synthwave or nu-disco or old school house or even a “focus on dawless” kind of show. This will also be about the time I expand the show to two hours.
Timing of the show is great because Fridays at 10 are when a lot of people are either on their way to the club or their private parties are getting going.
Anyway, that’s a lot of words just to say, “Tune in to my radio show if it seems interesting to you.”
I had a blast with my first show last Friday. Getting a lot of good feedback from listeners and the station owner too.
Of course, now it’s really sinking in that I have to put together a new set on a deadline, every week for the foreseeable future.
On the positive side, over time I’ll be significantly expanding my library of sets that I can take to the clubs, festivals or other events. For this coming Friday, it’s still going to be mostly “club” music, but I think I want to start branching out into themes sooner rather than later, starting the following week (Friday the 24th) with a synthwave/cyberpunk theme.
If I do a new theme and vibe each week, my library of crates and sets gets expanded and curated in a way that I can have more options to cover any vibe with little to no prep.
Tomorrow night is a special retro-future show, and I’ll even be playing some Elektron infused music from the likes of (checks notes) Yan Cook, Dataline and me.
Plus, artists like A.L.I.S.O.N, Daft Punk, and more. If bleeb bloops mixed with cyberpunk Blade Runner meets TRON dance vibes are your thing, you might like this one.
Just announced, I’m doing a four hour New Year’s Eve radio show starting at 10PM. Like all of my shows, it will be a non-stop flow of dance music, this time featuring mostly upbeat house, funk, nu disco and related party genres. The show is being promoted as a club dance experience for your NYE house parties.
Apparently well-promoted holiday events such as dedicated NYE programming get up to a 40% spike in listenership, so I’m grateful that I was offered this prime event.
