Elektron USB hub necessary or can I use other brands?

I have a DN, DT, M:S, M:C. But I only have 4 USB slots and need 2 of them for other peripherals. Must I buy the $65 Elektron USB hub to connect these or is a 3rd party powered hub fine? If so, which 3rd party USB hub would you recommend? Thanks!

…u can use any usb hub that provides full bandwith…
but 8 fast lane guaranteed usb ports in rocksolid casing for 60 bux is not such a bad deal…
it’s not exclusively talking elektron/ob only…it can also be just another common hub…
and if we talk mac hubs here, i’ve seen much worse in price and quality…

I’m using an iMac. I guess I’ll bite the bullet and go for the Elektron hub.

For the record, none of those devices ‘need’ what is key to the origins of the Overhub; Mk1 boxes required MTT support to preserve the narrower bandwidth requirements of the AF/AR … any MTT capable hub theoretically should have sufficed for that role … for the devices listed any MTT or non-MTT capable hub would be fine - but why not select the :3lektron: one as it’s known to work, or browse here … i don’t think your listed elektron boxes would even necessitate a powered hub tbh, but that may depend on your overall mA provision potential from computer
