maybe a simple question:
when using the beat repeat effect, is it possible to
quantize the initial “trig” to be on a 8th or 16th note for example
Not that I know. What you can do though is create a trigless lock that activates the delay. It’s not as intuitive but it allows for some other kinds of cool stuff if you experiment with it a bit.
(Plock the delay send to 0 to activate the repeater, any other value deactivates it again.)
Thanks, this is a great idea!
well, not what i searched for, but anyways, a good hint.
one more question: is it possible to use an external device via midi
to execute the beat repeat effect ?
I have never done this but I’m quite sure it can be done. One way at least would be to send the right cc to set delay send to 0.
About the first question: are you speaking during the use of DLY CTRL ?
If yes, then setting the TIME to the value you need makes the repeating (when activated) to follow that “quantization”.
@JSZ: your indication is right but in this way you cannot use the TIME modification keys (in trig mode DLY CTRL). They are related when the green trigs are used to activate the repeater.
CC#45 @ 0 (send=0) relates to the DELAY TIME set in the Effect2 page
…quantizing means first of all setting the delay time…32 is 8th…for example…
if you perform with delay control you can set the time parameter to 64 for example and just hit the trig keys for any further quantizing…
and hell yeah, trigless trgs can set the delay time, too…great idea…
so drop such a trigless trig in any pattern on any tracks…nothing will happen…but whenever you use a freeze delay scene lock, the freeze will quantize the way you want it in that pattern…
what else could you ask for…
And if you have track 8 as master you can use these trigless locks there as well.
what i mean is quantizing the moment when i push the button.
sometimes it´s hard to hit the exact moment of a percussion sound, for example:
when i want to repeat the moment when the snare on step 13 is triggered
i want that exact piece of audio starting from step 13 be repeated.
i know that´s difficult to realize, because it would be necessary that the
OT permanently records the signal to be repeated for the case i hit the trigger
too late.
one idea was to create a midi track on the OT itself that activates/deactivates
the beat repeat in exact timing values and then connect MIDI out to MIDI in, but i never tried to do that. maybe something for more advanced OT users ?
or maybe i didn´t understand that trigless lock thing. can
i program a pattern in the OT so that it activates the beat repeat from step
13 to 16 in 8th triplets for example ?
sorry for the last post, question was already answered…
