Went into Chromatic mode and realized my pads are dying or something.
The BD barely responds, especially to velocity.
The closer I get to CB pad, the better it gets.
Anyone familiar with this?

MKI or MKII? How long have you had it?
I’ve had my MKII about 10 months. I’ve noticed the pads shift slightly when I hit hard, and that shift happens across all the pads, regardless of which one I hit. Clearly they’re one piece of rubber over discrete frames/LEDs/sensors. I can imagine that if it would change, the elasticity would change “evenly”, spreading out its insensitivity from a central non-elastic point.
I’m depressing myself seeing into my future like this. Let’s hope Elektron stock spares of the pad pads for years to come.
Well, obviously every drum machine suffers sooner or later from pad issues, independent of it’s manufacturer (Akai, Elektron, Native Instruments …)
