Howdy,
OK, I seem to be able to copy samples onto the Rytm, but how do i view the samples in the sound browser & manager? I can see them in the sample list on the sample page, but I’m missing the (probably blindingly obvious) step of loading them into the pool so I cant seem to browse them.
I’ve created a dir on the +drive, I’ve tried selecting them all and then “load to project”, but I can’t find them other than the sample page list.
Hope that makes sense,
E.
sounds are entire track configs, including the samples as well as all parameters. To make a sound out of a sample, load up the sample, assign it to a track, set all params how you want them to be and then save that track’s sound into the sound pool. For saving the track into the soundpool, check the manual for instructions.
Now then, if you have saved the sound to your sound pool, you can easily recall it from any project and even the sample will be added to your project if it’s not already there. Having a sound in the pool also enable using sound locks as stated in the manual.
Ahhh…I get it. I had thought the AR would treat samples as sounds in their own right, but they are just part of a sound. Shame, I would have liked to be able to “tag” samples, so that I could audition a list of Bass Drums for example.
Perhaps better sample naming on my part would help…so prefix all Clap samples with CP, etc. so they are together in the sample list.
Thanks.
The naming convention you suggested is highly recommended. Also, remember to build sample chains out from your sounds in order to be able to cram as many oneshots to the 127 available slots as you need (perhaps you want to make a BD sample chain, hmm?)
