Wow, thanks everyone! I hadn’t subscribed to my own topic so I didn’t even notice anyone saw it, lol.

I greatly appreciate the comments.

@License: The displays are different, but it’s the exact same unit. Someone altered one before I bought it from them… It’s an inverse screen and actually way nicer than the original screen. I honestly don’t know how you could tell that though!

They’re both Mk1 versions, without +UW, I feel like I could really use unlimited patterns, but would hate to pay like $800 to upgrade both!

The drums on the second unit is great. You can only really do the cool drum stuff with the BBox, where you repeat the note, but with other parts, you can just use quick delays to get a similar effect, just not as accurate. All in all, I’d say the monomachine is really a pretty good drum machine!

I’m not sure I’d have ever thought to get another monomachine had it not really presented itself at such a good price, I think I spent about $800 for both of them (one was broken).

I was also just really getting jealous of everyone getting the new elektron toys… I’m doing my best trying to make everyone else jealous of the two monomachine setup

For anyone who says that the Monomachine is cold and harsh, look no further than this track.

Using distortion on many of the machine types (FM, in particular) can yield some unexpected organic-sounding textures.

Try it on the FM and SID machines (especially with PWM) and tell me it doesn’t sound nice.

Is that what you did for some of the sounds, here?
Kudos on the drum programming, too.

@glitched: I’m not sure I remember what I did for the sounds, but I agree about distortion. I’m pretty sure it was on those ‘beefier’ bass notes. Adds quite a thinckness to it, or as you put it, ‘organic’ sounding. In fact, that’s probably the closest thing that’s sounded like my oberheim matrix 1000!

Really impressed with that! Is there anyway I could download and listen to it on the go etc?
I’m definitely going to give my MnM a go tonight. But I’ve always found a problem sequencing it melodically. Wish it had a Keyboard like the A4 and wouldn’t rely on P locks for note data
