Ended up joining the kickstarter in January. My unit arrived today. Hooked it up with the included USB cable to my Hapax, which powered the device and transmitted MIDI as well.
Audio to mixer, sample into DT OG and in 30 minutes I had a small groove going I was happy with. Easy. It seems like it is going to be interesting to use for sample fodder.
For those with a DTII I think it is going to be super fun to sequence and control with named CC parameters 
Edit: makes a nice little setup with DT OG as well
It only comes with one bank of 32 patches though, so gotta figure out how to get “the rest” in there
