DTII: Custom Initialised Kit

Hi! I created a custom initialised patch with no samples selected but selected for each track its own sample slot (i.e. track 1: sample slot1). Before choosing my init kit, i unload the ram samples, load init kit, but then all the slots on the tracks are set on slot 1, so when selecting a sample and loading it to project, it loads the sample on all 16 tracks

Any workarounds to this?

Cheers!

I suspect you accidentally saved your init kit with all 16 tracks set to sample slot 1. Sample slot selection is just a parameter like any of the others so when you save the kit with each track using the sample slot in an ascending order, it should save it as such. Have you tried recreating the init kit again?

Another way of doing this is to create a template project. Set up a project as you’d like to start something new. Save it as a new project and lock it so it cannot be editted. When you start something new, simply load that template project and save it as a new project.

I did save each track with its dedicated number as mentioned in the post. But when i load the kit all tracks have sample slot 1 selected.

Ok will give the save as project method a go. Thanks!

The project file for part 1 of your OGDT lessons makes an excellent basic techno kit. I did a semi-bad job of following along with the videos (gotta get rid of those clicks) and have been going through your project settings to grok my DT in fullness before going on to part 2.

I added a few more percussion samples plus some useful ambient sounds. Also set midi track parameters to include my Sleepy Circuits Hypno and MiniFreak, and then locked it as a basic kit. Less is more when it’s done right and you know where your performance mod tools are.

Add samples as needed, [synths and stabs, movie & cartoon clips, whatever] and resave as another project / set. Lighting and video included for free.

I love practicing!

edit: Reduce to 96 bpm’s for a great jazzy lofi kit.
