8 simultaneous sampling channels at the same time as 8 simultaneous audio play back channels at the same time as 8 simultaneous midi channels, all available concurrently. With 4 in 4 out.
Simple drag and drop file transfer. External hard disc storage.
Cross fader. Scenes. 48 LFOs.
3 different reverbs, delay, chorus, flanger, phaser, 2 different eqs, distortion, multimode filter, spatialiser, compressor, comb filter.
Slide trigs.

This + thru machines + neighbors

Not sure about rec-trigs and pre slicing.

Recording can be quantized to Play only (Arm, recording starts when you press Play). Quantize to pattern beginning would be much more interesting, arm when ready. As is you can’t record fx tails in a loop directly.

No need for pre-slicing on DT, grid only, already applied to Grid machines. Just select the grid value before.

You have to save before assigning the recording to a track. The saving procedure can take up to 25 sec (for 66s recording), so I wouldn’t expect the same immediate use as OT in that concern.

You can prepare a track with Slices locks though.

A new thing worth mentioning is that on the DT2 there is a LST (last) trig condition. So if you are changing patterns you can now put a lock trig with LST to set the volume to 0 at the end of the track with the long sample.

The OT has a ‘start silent’ option which you turn on or off per track per pattern (I have it turned on by default for everything all the time generally) which is a godsent and also why OT is still king

That’s awesome! Hope that sees it’s way to the other boxes.
It would be sweet to have the option for audio muting as well, for manual muting
