DT2: MIDI track polyphony?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been digging through the manual and can’t find an answer to this question: How many notes can be recorded on a single MIDI track? I seem to recall only 1 for the DT1 (which may be inaccurate). If you know in the manual where this is answered, please feel free to point me to that section to read, I don’t mind doing my RTFM, I just can’t find it.

Thanks!

4 notes, all the same length, and each note is edited by 1 parameter on the trig page. DN2 does 8, but with a separate Note Edit menu.

Just to add to this. It’s 4 notes polyphony on both the original Digitakt and the Digitakt II MIDI tracks. It hasn’t changed.

16 notes for DN II.

From the manual :

5.3.2 MIDI TRACKS
Any of the 16 tracks can be used as a MIDI track. They are used to control external, MIDI equipped, gear. Each MIDI track can trigger up to sixteen notes per step with adjustable parameters such as velocity and length, control pitch bend and aftertouch, as well as sixteen freely assignable MIDI control change parameters (MIDI CCs).

That’s the manual for the Digitone II though. The original question was about the Digitakt II. Not to confuse things.

That’s why I mentioned DN II.

I see now I shouldn’t have used “DT2” as it isn’t clear: for the record, I’m asking about the digitakt 2.

Ah-ha, found it!

5.3.2 MIDI TRACKS
Any of the 16 tracks can be used as a MIDI track. They are used to control external, MIDI equipped, gear.
Each MIDI track can trigger a chord of up to four notes [emphasis mine] with adjustable parameters such as velocity
and length, control pitch bend and aftertouch, as well as sixteen freely assignable MIDI control change
parameters (MIDI CCs). For more information, please see “A.2.6 MIDI” on page 97. Any MIDI channel
can be assigned to a MIDI track and several tracks can share the same channel. If several tracks are
assigned to the same MIDI channel the track with the lowest number has priority in case of parameter
conflicts.
