DT2 inputs quieter than DT1 (update: will be fixed)

What’s your sample workflow?

This is not intended and we will fix it! Cheers

Maximum volume.

Nice to know, thanks !
I did not try to sample yet, and that was my plan for today.

I also have an issue where my digitone going into digitakt 2 is barely audible. However, if i sample audio, the recorded sample is at expected volume, which eother means its just normalized or something really obviously wrong slipped through pre-release bug testing - or my unit wasnt tested at all

When? This js not a small issue

From the manual, its supposed to automatically normalize the sample (which in my opinion is not necessarily a good thing). Didn’t try, though.

Use DT1 as preamp😁

Sold my SP-404mkIi for this exact issue as it was never fixed by Roland.

In any case the sooner this is fixed the better. I think I’ll need to cancel my Digitakt II order because of this.

Can anyone from Elektron comment on when this will be fixed?

Beta fix is already released, official should be out soon.

is this fix about the inputs issue or is it about auto normalizing or etc…?

Input levels low is the issue

Keen to hear if the fix works without increasing the noise floor - ie was this a calibration issue or a simple gain fix

Very quiet on mine too. The DT1 was on the borderline of being usable for an NTS-1 - if it could have more gain than the DT1 it would be a bonus!

Hi all! Any update on this? I have a Syntakt going in through the DTII and then all output through headphones. and the Syntakt is like half the volume compared to listening with headphones directly from the Syntakt. I did a test and if send the DTII through the Syntakt the audio is the same level as expected. Any thoughts?

Are you on the latest OS? This bug has been addressed.

Yes got the DTII a week ago and made the update to the latest one

Have you tried different input levels on the Mixer page?

Yes. DT IN LR is at max. DT Mix volume as well (Syntakt doesn’t have it, only has main and track volume). Main volume knobs are in the same position: 9:00 o’clock. With this setup If I switch the jacks to have the DT going into the Syntakt the volume are the same. When I go the other way around Syntakt volume is kinda cut in half.

Hi, just noticed this myself on my DT2 aswell.
Signal starts distorting before it could be as loud as the DT2. Yes I checked all the levels, tried everything, in the compressor, not in the conpressor, everything, still not the same loudness.
For other people who had the issue did updating fix it for you? I’m on the latest firmware and I still have this issue.
