Hey guys, hoping someone can help me. I have my DT2 and DN2 hooked up with midi in/out and have the DT2 set for midi program send ans DN2 set to receive, same set up i always have however for some reason its stopped working. Is this a bug or is there some other thing I’ve maby accidentally turned off or changed?
Any help very much appreciated as I’m getting frustrated.
Great! What does it mean to “cross ref the auto channels”? Each box on “auto” and that’s it? There is a number of threads about this issue and I still am not able to pin the problem down
So above where it says “auto” there is an option to set the channel number for auto channel. One was on 10 the other was 16, once I set them both to 16 it worked again. Now do I understand what Auto channel is? No. But its working so I don’t aak any mkre questions lol
Auto channel is the receiving channel for all tracks if that track is selected. So, say you had a midi keyboard hooked up, transmitting on Ch 16, and your auto channel is set to 16, the keyboard will play whatever track you have selected.
Thanks, so would you say that for transport and program change to work flawlessly and without the pattern delay as far as only DT2>DN2 is concerned (no extra gear) one simply needs both autos on 16, set and forget? Sorry, I have never experienced anything like this on the OGs so am a bit perplexed now. Like, how come this issue keeps on coming back on 'Nauts almost on a monthly basis. Have we had any important changes in how the Midi menus work between the OGs and the Twos?
Auto channel is the channel which the device will listen to and the forward notes and control changes to whichever is the channel of the selected track.
So, you’d set your keyboard controller to send on the Elektron device’s auto channel, and now you can play any track by selecting the track on the Elektron, no matter which MIDI channel is also assigned to that track.
It doesn’t make sense to use the auto channel fornprogramme changes. I’ve never understood why Elektron make that the default.
