Have DT set up as midi send and syntakt as midi receiver, routing Audii back to DT. Works great incl automated pattern switching.

But I now want to add my behringer p800 synth and either I break the DT/ST sync or I cannot hear my synth.

DT has midi out to ST midi in
ST audio out to DT audio in (right)

DT track 10 set to midi channel 14, same as p800
DT thru to P800 in?
P800 Audio to DT audio in (left)

Putting P800 in middle of midi chain of DT and ST messed up my DT controlling ST

I have a very similar setup, I use Syntakt as MIDI master, which just sends clock and transport to the DT MIDI in, then the DT MIDI Out to the external synth. The synth is connected the ST audio in to make use of the FX track, and the ST outputs audio to DT, which is connected to the monitors. I think your problem is using Thru rather than out, Thru is just a duplicate of whatever is arriving at MIDI in.

Did you try the Thru from ST instead of DT? As ST seems to be the receiver of the ‘main’ MIDI signal, which has to be let Thru to the other synth, too.

MIDI Thru ports only pass incoming signals through to another device.
They are not a secondary output.

You need to wire things up as:

  • DT Out > ST In
  • ST Thru > P800 In.

Then you can control the P800 via the DT.
Alternatively, MIDI Thru boxes can split a MIDI Out to multiple DIN connections for up to 16 devices.
