Hey everyone,
I have a Digitakt, MakeNoise 0-coast, Model:Cycles, Arturia KeyStep, MIDI solutions Quadra thru (4-way MIDI splitter box) and a Steinberg UR22mkII. I also have a macos machine and a windows machine w/ ASIO4ALL, both have Ableton 10.
Since I don’t physically have the Digitakt or 0-coast yet, I’m wondering if elektronauts can figure out if this setup will work.
This is the setup that I’m thinking of:
Digitakt is connected to PC by USB.
Keystep -->(MIDI cable)–>Digitakt–>(MIDI cable)–>Quadra Thru–>(2 MIDI cables)–>0-coast/M:C
0-coast audio out goes to the UR22mkII in
M:C audio out goes through USB to the computer
On Windows, I’ve tested ASIO4ALL in Ableton and it seems to recognize both the M:C USB in and the UR22mkII in as 4 separate channels, which is great. So I’m hoping I can expand ASIO4ALL to also take in the Digitakt audio. On macos, I understand that there’s “aggregate” audi device setups that could achieve the same thing as ASIO4ALL (and it also sounds like it works better?)
I’m not very familiar with Overbridge – is there something in that software that will make my setup “better”? Also, are there other setups that you’d think would be better than what I’ve proposed? For instance, I could just connect the M:C or 0-coast audio outs to the Digitakt L/R in, and use the Digitakt as a sampler for those two synths, but can the Digitakt also just send the M:C (or 0-coast) audio straight to my computer? (and on top of that, can I apply the filter envelope in the digitakt to the L/R in on-the-fly?)
Thanks!
