DT Backup and sample link

Hello everyone,

I tried to transfer a project between two Digitakt :

  • Exported all samples from DT 1 to computer with Elektron Transfer.
  • Sent the project sysex file with elektron sysex manager from DT to computer.
  • Transferred all samples from computer to the DT2.
  • Created a new empty project on the DT 2.
  • Sent the project sysex file from computer to DT 2.

The fact is, there are no links between the TRKS and the SAMPLES on the DT.

I’ve looked on youtube and on some discussions around to be sure that this link is supposed to work, which is the case, so why is it not working on my digitakt ? Have i done something wrong ?

EDIT : To be sure, i have tried another time. I have deleted all projects AND samples on my DT 2. Then transferred samples, then the project sysex, still no links between samples and traks, except for trks using the default kit…

For the sysex, i have used these settings :

I don’t really know how, but at the fourth try it worked.

In case it could help someone, to make it work :

  • i deleted everything on my DT (samples and projects, manually, no memory wipe from menu).
  • I transferred all the samples first.
  • I then used SEND in C6 software, while DT is turned on, connected in USB only (not USB + MIDI) mode.
    (You don’t have to get through SYSEX => RECEIVE menu on DT, just open a freshly created project, and send file from C6, DT will automatically receive it.)

The difference i noticed from earlier tries was that after receiving PATTERNS, my DT notified me that it received SETTINGS. That may be what “links” the samples.
