I recently sold my DT. I liked the thing, a lot, but it was kind of in my way more than it was helping. There was also the problem of using it on my late 2013 Macbook Pro there were constant audio screwups at even very low cpu usage. It never really occurred to me that it might be the fault of DT/Overbridge til after it was gone and uninstalled, but since then the system is running fine. So I’m wondering if it was OB or if it was just that I was asking my old computer to listen to/record something like 12 tracks at the same time. Anyone got experience with this?
I’m sure that people were able to record 12 simultaneous tracks on computers in 2013.

• A dedicated USB host port for each connected Overbridge supported Elektron device is prefera- ble to minimize problems with both connectivity and performance. If you want to connect multiple Elektron instruments to a computer host with only one USB controller, a high-quality hub, such as the Elektron Overhub, should be used.

How does your MacBook Pro measure up?
Exceeds across the board. I even have an Overhub.
Older macbooks can have a prob with power provided on one of the two ports. I always had to use the near port to guarantee glitch free audio, as the far port (nearest screen) is already used by the Mac’s internals. Here’s an old article about it:
I found there are some conflicts with OB and other software. If I have Adobe stuff running in the background, there can be drops.
OB DEFINITELY messes with Adobe Premier. I can’t even scrub the timeline in Premier if my DT is connected via OB. There’s like a 5sec update each time I scrub.
Perhaps you have something else accessing Core Audio that conflicts with OB?

Well, it looks like OB indeed does not get on well with my oldster MBP, same with a couple other music apps that seem to run up against the GPU chip. I tried switching USB ports but it doesn’t fix the problem as well as the forward port creating significant noise problems. Ah well. Guess I’ll have to wait a bit to get an A4.
