DT 2 - "fake" trig slides?

is there any way / workaround to get sth like trig slides working?

plocking lfo?

You could do this with midi, either loopback or another Elektron device: set up sound macros in the setup menu (Mod Wheel, AT, BC, PB), which allow 4 scaled, bipolar parameter changes per macro. Then p-lock midi LFOs to glide between states.

whats plocking lfo?

@humanprogram, not sure i can follow.

i talk about sliding between audio samples, like its possible on the octa

you can simulate trig slides with slow-ish lfo movement, let’s say you want to slide from filter cutoff over 4 trigs, so you set lfo with ramp on destination cutoff to move in that range and if you change the distance between trigs you can change the rate of the lfo

simulate the movement with lfo, you can use p-locks on trigs or trigless trigs to p-lock the rate to slow down/speed up the movement

you can use the midi tracks of the DT to send midi lfos to change internal tracks too in addition to the regular tracks lfos, if you send MW/AT/BC/PB information you can modulate up to 4 parameters at a time, like macro slide, while track lfo has one destination per lfo

you can use midi loopback trick for that, connect midi out > midi in, just make sure not to send transport/clock so you won’t be stuck in a loop

It would require a lot of work to slide between samples, there are no slide trigs so you’d be doing something closer to wavetables.

There are a couple of threads on it, but it probably still won’t give you the results that you want. If you don’t know what parameter locks are just check out the manual, the information is in there.

If you want to research wavetables and see if something similar would meet your needs then like I said, there are some threads about it but it’s a lot of prep work so you would need to have it planned out ahead of time. @Humanprogram might be able to elaborate. It’s not slides though, it’s more like blending and it’s not something you can just try one thing and if you don’t like it try the next, you’d have to chop the samples up in a daw.

i know what parameter locks are  i read “plocking” instead of p-locking

thanks @shigginpit - ok, i am not interested in prep work in the box at all.

what i am locking for is slide into a pitch down or sth alike. so i guess best try would be to try sth with precise lfo programming.

yeah sliding pitch with lfo should be no problem.

make sure you’re locking the lfo to the step and you’ll need to disable lfo to track so that it follows the trig.

Try Legato.

to be clear, i dont own a mk2 yet, just curious if sth changed in this regard.
to bad they hold cool stuff back on the dt2…

DTII has glide/portamento/pitch slides and legato.
(Far easier to use and to control than Parameter Slides!)

No workarounds or LFOs needed.

good to know, thanks @Jeanne !
