Drum programming for techno

Simple drum pattern, no 16th hats or rides, hits hard.

Do you recall the name of it? I love documentaries based around people good at their field that don’t talk down to the audience, especially inspiration from creative fields.

In my opinion, techno can be whatever you want it to be and the classic four to the floor drum pattern is always a good foundation to start with.

Having said that, when I “hear techno”, I hear syncopation, repetition, groove, and intentionally experimental sound design.

Also, I feel like it’s about the approach. Using your gear the way it’s NOT meant to be used. More jams and fewer arrangements.

It’s a mindset and approach less than an actual technique

Just my 2 cents
