Do you mean concentric pots? I checked those but they are expensive.I found a nice way to make a more compact interface by using pots with built in switches (not encoders).I will use them for AM depth , overdrive,cutoff,vca,aux1 and aux2. Those are the mod destinations. I will digitize the interface and make a more sophisticated mod section and put it the master strip. pressing the knob of the parameter you want to modulate and the mod depth knob will apply the mod settings. The mod settings are
Bipolar mod depth
The mod type:
-random
-slewed random
-envelope
-sustained envelope
-sine
-triangle
-saw
-revere saw
Mode:
-audio triggered
-free
-synced
Channel in case of audio triggered:
1 2 3…
Phase
Speed
I managed to fit this interface in a 65x40 cm enclosure on cad, which I think is an appropriate size for a studio mixer.
65*40 sound way more manageable, even outside of studio use.
Yeah, the more special a pot is the faster it gets to ridiculous prices. Curious about the progress, keep it up!
exactly, it reminds me of the first OP-1 appearance where TE was just showing different development aspects of the hard- and Software side of things.
…a video of just the Tombola running after its first implementation and such…
I have made some major upgrades to the mixer design. I’m still breadboarding some of the sections to make sure they work as expected. I also found a way to integrate multitrack recording over usb(similar to zedR16 ). i expect to be done in 6 months at least.
I uploaded a short sound demo of the master overdrive.
Sorry but can you fix the upload? I’d love to see where you’re at with this.
You may need to wait longer, or make sure the file size is under 10MB.
Thanks!
Edit: Very nice! Are you still planning on doing assembly through your personal family connections? Are you feeling like you’re on target for the original price point?
