Picked up a Virus TI a few months back and it’s golden with the Octatrack.
It’s hard to find good DNB patches for the Virus though, as it’s getting to be an older piece of kit. Most of what I’ve found is crappy trance stuff. Anyone know where the secret vaults of classic DNB / jungle Virus patches can be found these days?

The access site has at least one drum and bass bank that is decent. If you are willing to pay, the aslsoundlab stuff is great!
Look for the Matthew Stolley preset banks over at Access. Three different banks for Drum’n’Bass sounds.
I’ll kind of skip over the “make your own” kind of comment; as I get you want an starting point(?) but it must be stressed that the Virus is an amazing synth; one of the best ever made; and one that well rewards learning how to program it, so is well worth the effort to learn inside out.
There is a programming tutorial from Howard Scarr on the Access website; and a couple of commercial video series kicking around on the web.
It sounds to me like they reside on your Virus.

Yep, I’ve learned some things, still getting my sound design chops. I’m not planning to just use presets with no modifications, but yes it’s good to have some good go-to patches that I can then modify and muck about, and learn from.
http://ultimatexsounds.com/ always had nice sounding demos of their patches. I never purchased any and they’re quite expensive last I saw but maybe check there if you haven’t already.
my experience with ultimatexsounds was not good… I bought one pack early on, and the levels were all over the place, and basically only sounded good as they were absolutely drenched in FX. (and so were very high in CPU too)
the only good thing was… it was the last preset pack I ever bought…( * )
I realised it was way more fun creating your own, and I feel much more ‘connected’ to sounds I create myself.
as a bonus, I don’t end up with the ‘choice paralysis’ of digging thru hundreds of presets, which I find depressing.
as to the OT (since thats where we are ) … yeah, I think Virus + OT is a killer combination!
( * ) in fairness, the TI comes with so many presets … if I just want to play, I can always find something to get me started
