I still think of myself as a beginner in synthesis (just pure guesswork turning knobs).
Is it possible to somehow get a drone like thing from the BT? Basically I don’t want the “hit” (new terminology is appreciated) when it trigs, instead a sustained growl that I can spread out and loop.
Or, due to the nature of this being a drum machine and not a synth, is it not setup for that?
Sure, check out the note length button and set it to max.
Hm. Under the trig page I set LEN to INF. But it still putters out after about 16 steps…
I’ve gone routed of the main the BT track, setup the reverb for infinite and turned up the overdrive which is nice (and now I know why people complain about global track settings), but no growl. More like a breath…
I’ll give this a shot tonight.
You set the decay to max in the amp too?
OK, I found a way to lock it.
First off, let me say that you’re right. I couldn’t get the BT to hold indeffinately, even with hold and release decay etc all to max.
However, I did manage to do it with an LFO. That being said, it’s not super useful -you’ll see why (or maybe it is?).
After a kit reset I maxed out the usual suspects (hold, decay, release). In the LFO I put the depth to max. Then I chose the TUNE parameter on the LFO. For whatever reason this locks the sound indefinitely. That being said, it’s not really useful as it just wobbles
If you turn the depth down a little the sound will decay again.
Maybe there are other LFO params that will lock the sound but I didn’t find any…
That was a proper lead.
I went your route and under the LFO page put the SPD almost all the way up, MOD to TRG, a sine wav and, as you said, depth to the very opposite poles. I think though the key is MUL: it sustains at 512 and 1k but nothing else.
It was still “hitting” though so I then turned down the synth LEV. Bingo.
I had on my HD600s which have very tame bass. I switched over to ATHM50 and, yeah, head pulsing growl. Turn down the FRQ cutoff…Nasty.
EDIT: Thanks for your help!! (Sorry. I get too excited to work on it and forget my Ps and Qs.)
Well hopefully you can figure out another way to make it work besides the TUN param.
Just so you know, I did this at 12 or 16 speed with multi at 1 and it sustained without retrigging.
Anyways, good luck!
