Dreadbox Artemis

Good on you!
They all have their strengths
And of course if anyone is finding the musical palette that they are about, there’s no silver bullet synth out there that can take that satisfaction away from you

Alas, my apologies, you know all the following. That’s what replying when you get up for a 6am call time will get you.

Typhon has a similar architecture in a monosynth and can take external input, which is an uncommon feature
Nymphes has that analog 6-voice vco in a mono instrument output, form factor, aux jack midi.

Those features make them tricky to depart with, and tricky to justify the flagship Artemis.

And Artemis has better preset management, practically the complete suite from sinevibes, orchestral stereo, and perhaps a more dependable layout for performance

That’s a stripped down comparison from my own perspective

Apologies for not reading whole thread.

But, can you name patches yet?

If not, will it be added eventually?

I love the sound of this synth (and my Typhon). But patch names are a must for me!

Yes, you can indeed now name patches! I took a preset bank I had purchased from Miles Away (which were created before naming was added) and added all the names via vibe-coding.

I’m finally ready to buy one of these beautiful synths! As a Dreadbox fan I can’t wait really, but I thought I’d check in with the community:

Any known issues with this synth? Anything that could potentially be a dealbreaker? (Reliability etc). How are you getting along with the interface? Is it immediate to program?

I’m selling my Grandmother (the Moog one :joy:) to fund this one.

Any takes are welcome!

Lol yeah a couple people have had fader jitter issues multiple times (across different units).

Interestingly I read a user here had jitter issues or random parameter changes at least with the Murmux.

What could be the issue if it is ?seemingly persisting across different synth entirely?

Went through 2 of them. Screen died on both of them. Both units lasted about 3 months. Gutted as I absolutely loved the synth. Didn’t want to risk a third one, but next year I might pick one up again as it just sounds so good. There’s loads of people out there that have had no issues with theirs, guess I was just really unlucky. Maybe make sure you get at least a 3 year guarantee with it.

Damn, that’s not great, sorry to hear that. I had both my Erebus and my Nyx fail on me, but Dreadbox’s support was amazing in both cases. They had me send the synths to Greece and 1.5 weeks later I had a repaired, fully functional unit back in the mail at no cost apart from shipping (7 and 4 years after purchasing the synths used!). We’ll be moving continents soon though, so I’m a bit weary of gear that isn’t robust. The sound of the Artemis really is so good, isn’t it? I have the Nymphes also which is a monster in a tiny package, the Artemis just seems that bit better still.

Wow that’s good customer service. Yeah I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in it, really lovely sounding synth with great fx and lovely filter.
