…if you care for your other synths!
it’s been almost a month now since i first switched on my AR and the more i use it, the more i find it difficult to integrate the other machines with it…not because they won’t fit, just because the AR is good enough on its own (and i still haven’t used samples…) …
when i bought the AR the idea was to remove the computer from the equation and just use the hardware to create livesets … now, the computer is almost gone (used mainly to record audio/video) but i’m looking at my synths and thinking: mmm , do i need that one? well…
aaanyway…go and get an AR, it is more than worth it!

nice
would probably be good for some circuit bending, it does come with schematics as well

won’t ever replace many of my other synths…but there is no doubt that it is quite versatile and I’m loving mine
it’s killer what you can do with some single cycle waveforms as samples
as I’ve said in other posts, the brick wall you are going to run into almost immediately is a single LFO

yes, so far not having a second LFO is the only limitation for me but i’m hoping this and other features will come in the next OS updates; in the end, the AR is still pretty young so there’s still time for good things to come

throw a single cycle waveform sample and stick an LFO on it for very cool dynamic synth (along with the drums)
technically, you could record the automation and/or p-lock some stuff to free up the LFO but it isn’t going to be as dynamic and if you want to start changing multiple things like the filter and tuning of the sample…you immediately start wanting another LFO
the OS is definitely green, if elektron holds true to form, we should all be rewarded with some great OS enhancements eventually
the AR definitely isn’t getting any less use over here because of it

Ok guys maybe you can help me with this. I own an a4 and an OT so initially I didn’t realLy care for rytm so when I worked out the sample thing and layering I can see how rad it would be.
So what’s my problem? Well I don’t think I need it yet. I can get some very nice analog drums from the 10 analog synths I own but I really wanna get 4 mutable. Instruments eurorack voice - braids/tides/ripples/Maths which I reckon might be much more musically useful.
I don’t know - this may change dramatically once I see overbridge as then for me it will be super useful
too late. its getting here tomorrow
Single cycle wave forms can get very acidic!
