Dom Phillips (murdered journalist, former Mixmag editor) - Fundraiser

I’m sure many of you will have seen the news that the journalist Dom Phillips has been killed in the Brazilian Amazon.

Dom was a former editor of Mixmag and made an enormous contribution to the electronic music scene in the 1990s and early 2000s.

I had been hearing the story on the news over the last week, but was utterly shocked to discover that this was the very same Dom Philips. Somehow, I hadn’t worked out the context but remember Dom so well from the 1990s especially, supporting so much new electronic music. Our paths would cross at different music events too. Such an utter tragedy indeed.

More familiarly to some of us, he also wrote the mini sci-fi story on the inlay of Mark Pritchard’s seminal album ‘A Collection of Short Stories’.
