Does the Octatrack save volume and other FX changes after a new pattern begins?

I’m running 2 Octatracks and love it … building songs in arranger mode and I find myself stopping my jams constantly to save, worried I might lose that special moment or recording. How frequently do I need to save? Can I change patterns? Banks?

Thank you.

From the manual, p18:

4.12 HOW INFORMATION IS HANDLED

When working within a project there is no need to save as all changes are automatically cached on card. Changes made to a project will be remembered even after the machine has been switched off. The only time an operation needs to be carried out is before removing the Compact Flash card. The project should then be synced to the card. For more information about this operation, please see page 30.
There exists a SAVE command for projects though. Once you are content with a project, it is wise to save it. If you continue your work with the project, but are not satisfied with the results, you can then bring back the project to the previously saved state by performing a project RELOAD command. For more information, please see “8.4.1 PROJECT” on page 31.

Soooooooo…

Save a part and its associated pattern(s) any time you want to keep the changed. Save the project any time you want a restore point.

Understanding Parts, and the above quote from the manual is essential.

Thank you, supremely helpful.

Twice more important if you use 2 OT
