Just got into the studio, flipped on my gear an noticed that the H pot on my A4 was not working as it should. Clicking it showed its values per page but when twisted, nothing, no changes. So i powered it on and off then it started working as normal.
Just a bit worried that its the start of a more serious problem, have any of you seen this behaviour on your machine?
I’m convinced my A pot isn’t right.
It just doesn’t behave like the others. It doesn’t seem to pick up the slight movements.
It’s fine when I do a push-turn.
Been toying with the idea of opening a ticket and sending it back under warranty (still have 8 months left), but that will leave me without a unit for a while, and the issue is subtle.
Mine is F that is dodgy. I don’t think much of it, they’re endless encoders and they do get wobbly after a while. Same thing happened on my OT and I just learned to stop worrying.
If something happens in 2 years time I’ll send it, if not I’ll try my hand at putting it back, shouldn’t be too hard.
My E pot has done that to me twice so far. Turning it back on after unplugging and replugging the DC adaptor fixed it. Worried too.
The A encoder on mine is loose. It still works fine but these encoders have a cheap feeling to them for sure.
most of my gear that has pots not working correctly i just spray some deoxit or Radioshack control/contact cleaner and lubricant into the pots. though haven’t had to do it with electron gear yet but worth a try…
My A & F pots both feel different to the others, just like dcsux’s. They’re ok when I do push-turns or if I use slow movements, but if I twist them quickly it’s as if they lose ‘traction’ on the values, like wheels spinning in mud. It can be damn frustrating at times.
I haven’t had problems with the pot after the restart that day, I updated to the latest OS also.
Get the spinning wheels now and again but I feel that’s me being a bit heavy handed when that happens. My wee filter Apot is wearing away must have rough finger tips
Gotta get some contact cleaner, handy stuff, cheers.
