I like my FMR RNLA for that… compress/limit and it does color the signal quite a bit.
and it is stereo.
other than that - and this will be outside of your pricerange and possibly not really practical for live use, but I have a 500 Series rack and two matching DIY preamps with “Color” hardware-plugins… (by “Bart HRK” in the UK, there´s also DIYRE in the U.S.)
those are essentially little PCBs you can plock into the preamps that will saturate/distort/color the sound run through it in some way… in my case I use a germanium diode distortion alongside a soviet pentode tube color.
all sorts of nice distortion can be had with that - but yes, it is a little on the expensive side because you have to buy a 500 rack first and even the cheaper ones you can get today will still run you ~250 bucks for basically just a power supply.
the modules themselves (the ones I use) can be DIY’ ed though
