My DN2 got malfunctioning USB, before sending it to repair I
made Sysex Dump → Sysex Send → Active Project via MIDI, dumped it twice, the sizes of both dumps are same.
Repairs replaced the whole PCB, so no data left.
Now I’m trying to restore the dump, but there is no option for the Sysex Receive->Active Project, only Pattern and Presets. Tried to receive as Pattern , but only the first pattern that was on the device before repairs is received.
How I can restore the whole Project from Project Sysex Dump?
Hi,
The answer is probably related to this, although I’m frankly unclear on which sysex receive (if any) dn2 is compatible with. Maybe OS update via sysex but projects and presets seem to be an issue (i.e. not possible).
Might be best to email support for a more informed answer but I think the short version is that they need to be the digitone specific file format.
Hopefully I’m wrong, but all the more reason to ask elektron directly.
Edit: maybe try this?
I’m just guessing based on the available information so you’d need to experiment a bit.
The first pattern in the first bank is received correctly from the dump, tried select 2nd, 3rd etc patterns to “waiting data” , when send sysex dump from Transfer, all receive the first pattern from the original pre repairs state. But the first bank was full of my patterns , so I can’t import others except the first
I’d contact elektron support regarding your problem. It sounds as though there is not currently an option to receive projects via sysex, only pattern and presets which you noted above. You’ve already seen the result is that only the first pattern of the first bank is received correctly.
If you don’t have backups of your individual patterns and presets then perhaps elektron support will have a solution, or maybe another user will help out with an answer.
done that , thanks for caring
Ok. I wish I had some more solutions for you. It seems to be a big problem if you can only backup via sysex dump and not restore.
Good luck
