As someone else said, DTII is more immediate.
However, since it was said āCompanionā, my suggestion is the Tonverk because it gives one more variety than the DNII + DTII combo, let alone thanks to the weird, stackable, modulateable effects.
(DTIIās effects are the same as DNIIās.)
(As about synths (OP), with DNII I have zero desire for another synth. Though I do like my Analog Four

It all depends on the budgetā¦ but anybody who owns an Isla s2400 probably isnāt too budget constrained.

Iām not the op! Sorry to derail the thread.
I am looking for an analog style (maybe inspired by the sh101) synth for my digi box. I want to use it live. It should not be too big (similar formfactor), have a decent midi cc and pc implementation and enough hands-on controls.
I would mainly use it for arps and basslines, so I donāt need a keyboard. What would you suggest in the year 2025?

Roland S-1 is on sale in the USA. Never owned one, just wanted to point that out.

Roland S1 is cheap, awesome, polyphonic and has FX.
It has good MIDI implementation, sequencer, and almost a knob-per function interface.

thanks for the inputs. is a bit a bummer that the bass station 2 is so big. i think it would be ideal.
I did own a s2400. It sounds fantastic, but I wasnāt at ease with the workflow. Sold it and bought a second hand octatrack and a DN2. And now I have my perfect combo, with the sp404 and a S4 as well.
