Just got an octatrack again and the Display ist Really lacking contrast. Dots See way too bright compared to the rytm .
Is this normal, is my Display faulty or is there a,way to adjust that?
i dont think you can adjust it - but if its a new unit it may have some plastic film covering the screen that dulls it a bit, and you can remove that
contrast and viewing angle are not as good as the analog boxes for sure - seems washed out on mine too, but perfectly usable at the right angle
got my second used unit and cant remember the display sucking like this on the first one. the viewing angle is really bad but as long as it is normal on some units i am fine with it. just dont want the display to die in no time…
I think some of the units have upgraded screens or different components some where in there…
I’m not certain about this, but I certainly recall putting my octatrack which is from 2011 or so, I think, next to a friends who had just bought his in 2015 and there was a noticeable difference in screen brightness.
as long as it stays that way i am ok with it. just dont want it to die soon
