Digitone vs Keystep Pro or both?

The digitone sequencer wins out, but I will tell you that you will want keys at some point. The 1 octave range on the digitones face is very limiting when you want to play in larger chords or play notes across octaves or in different keys.

I have a minilab Mk2, along with a 61 key M-AUDIO.

You should definitely buy Digitone. If you want keys too, you can buy a normal keystep later.

I find the workflow to be a nice mix of programming and performance. You can get really in depth with programming your parts to give yourself performance opportunities. I find the digitone and digitakt to require at least a little programming to make patterns, but with the model: cycles I can pretty much just put in a bunch of random trigs, then go into live record and start twisting knobs for crazy techno.

I bought it today! Super excited to get started.
