Digitone II v1.10 Overbridge usage?

I can’t make the overbridge (VST3) of the Digitone II visible in Ableton 11.
I have downloaded all functionalities and also rescanned the folder.
The .dll files are stored in the directory, but not in my Ableton plugin library.

Can you someone please give me a hint?

I don’t think .dll is the right extension for VST3, so it sounds like you need to find your actual VST3 install folder, and make sure Ableton is pointed to that.

Sorry to revive a dead thread but also having overbridge issues with DN2 and it seems more appropriate to post here than make a new thread.

I have a slightly different issue than OP does. I am seeing the Digitone 2 vst3 in Ableton but it seems it’s refusing to connect to my DN2. The plugin loads but digitone isn’t responding to any of the controls in OB. Nor is there any audio output via overbridge. Digitone is set to overbridge mode as it should be. The USB cable works because I’m able to connect to it via elektron transfer. Digitone 2 is fully updated to version 1.10A.

Anyone ever have this issue? Syntakt works just fine and so does Digitakt 2. I thought maybe the USB hub is the issue but it’s not working with a direct usb connection to the computer either.

What do you see in Overbridge Engine? Does it appear as connected?

Up top it says “no device selected” and auto select is on. So I turned off auto select and clicked on “digitone 2” in the dropdown menu, however it still isn’t actually connected. I wonder if it’s because I’m not on firmware 1.10D? I think I had downloaded overbridge a few months after I updated digitone to 1.10A

there is sort of a consensus that “D” is not really relevant unless your DN2 was manufactured like within last 48 hours or something. Let me find this real quick, and I’ll edit…

… voila:

Hope it helps!

This is a DT2 specific issue though? I’m having problems with digitone. Unless it’s a problem with both digi boxes?

Both DT2 and DN2 received a “B” and “D” treatments last week and it is believed (?) that “B” and “D” only apply to the most recent units due to some slight change in the manufacturing process. Nothing indicates that “D” might have anything to do with OB or anything else for the “end user”

Ah I see. Thanks for explaining.

Wonder why my digitone won’t connect to the plugin then :(. Hopefully not a hardware fault.

I would disconnect everything, turn off, have a cigarette, and turn it back on again after ten minutes. Computers are stupid

Well the cigarette and restart didn’t fix things unfortunately :smiling_face_with_tear:. What’s wierd is overbridge control panel sees digitone and audio comes through. But the digitone 2 overbridge app itself is refusing to work, both the vst and the standalone.

Edit: Found the issue. The plugin windows size was so large it cut off the warning message at the bottom saying the digitones OS version needs to be updated :person_facepalming:

There has been a 1.10B & C for Digitone II.
Upgrading to D will have the fixen for B & C.
So if you are on 1.10A I would recommend upgrading to D

Was it “D” finally? On a relatively older DN2?

Yeah I’m currently on 1.10D. The digitone was purchased maybe 8 months ago

Great, good to know, thanks!

In my case, the Digitone 2 connected fine with Overbridge Engine and Transfer, but the plugin was missing. The reason turned out to be that when I first installed Overbridge for Digitakt 2, I had deselected the other devices. After reinstalling Overbridge and selecting all my Elektron devices, the Digitone 2 plugin appeared and now works perfectly in my DAW.

Just sharing in case it helps anyone facing a similar issue.

Cheers!

They can’t think for themselves yet. They only operate with inputs.
