I would absolutely love to be able to layer all 16 tracks and route them to one single filter.
I mean control all is sort of a workaround but you can’t modulate control all.

Yep. Master filter (with track routing) and an FX “machine” to a) Sequence the filter and master overdrive, and b) send breath/wheel/aftertouch values to other tracks (select which tracks to send to).
AH+fx? It’s a lot of money to put down since the price jumped up. AH mk2 is pretty reasonable second hand now though. You’d get the lovely distortion as well as the filter, they’re real nice with DN as well.
External MIDI CC Soft Takeover
Would love to see a soft takeover or pickup mode added for external MIDI soft takeover.
Essentially, there is currently no way to sync external gear like the Novation Launch Control 3 when controlling parameters via CC messages. The soft takeover mode could be a setting enabled in the system settings.
When soft takeover or pickup mode is enabled for MIDI CC, then the software host (digitone OS) should ignore incoming MIDI CC until the received velocity value reaches the current parameter setting. Once the external control reaches the current value or pickup for the parameter in the pattern or project, then the software host allows the external control to “takeover”. This would then sync controls with external gear and allow for smooth takeover without any unexpected jumps.
Example:
External potentiometer is mapped to control filter frequency. The filter frequency is set to a value equivalent to 64 in a 7-bit 0-127 range. The external pot sends a velocity value starting with 0. The filter frequency only changes once the external pot sends a value that is equal to 64. This should work bi-directionally so the software parameter only updates once the parameter receives a velocity value that equals the pickup point.
Yep quite annoying.
Also, this box feels orders of magnitude (exaggerating here) hotter than the DN1 in its output. Tested disabling the compressor but is not that (not the master drive).
I’ll try doing some measures with the same patches in both machines.
If you hook up a midi controller and send mod wheel changes to the DN while live recording, would it not capture the modulated parameters via the mod wheel macro?
