Digitone II + 1010Music Blackbox … Digitakt II?

Hey folks - I currently have a DN II and a 1010Music Blackbox…….I started all of this with samples and the Blackbox and am curious if the Digitakt II would be a necessary addition to my setup. My samples are pretty much sounds outside, power tools, anything that makes weird noise is recorded on my Zoom. I’m not having GAS, just honestly not sure if it will add that much to what I currently have…. Any thoughts? Thanks!

If you ever think “I wish this feature of my DN2 was on the black box” that’s the time you should start thinking of the DT2.

Most likely it will be a sequencing feature but it might include filters or effects.

If you’re not feeling the need, probably best spend your energy/time on something else

If you are feeling the need, figure out if the DT2 does actually have that feature. In some cases (e.g. loop slicing, long loops) the blackbox might seem to be a better bet. Lots of negative feedback about slicing on DT2, (lack of features, unwanted pops and clicks)

i dont think you’re missing out on anything with the digitakt II. it cant do the perfectly sync’ed loops, doesnt have a granular sample mode, manual slices, multisampling, and cant hold a 1tb micro sd card worth of audio

i happen to think the filters, pitch resolution(?)/range, master comp, and del/verb sound a lot better on the 1010 BB. that filter is so good. its like having a damn akai force in a box that’s smaller than an ipad

if you need strictly monophonic one shots or a better sequencer, maybe the dt2 would make sense, but i think the dn2 should cover all of that for sure
